2017 has been an eventful year.  We launched the Frontiers Father & Son Club for boys in first to fourth grades and their dads.  Frontiers now joins the Horizons Club, the Father & Son Club started last year for boys in the fifth to seventh grades and their dads.

The Sebago Leadership Camp had a great week in E. Brookfield, MA.  Under the watchful eyes of Bob Sylvain and Paul Reilly, over 80 middle school boys enjoyed a week of classes, sports, night games, talent shows, fun on the lake, and daily Mass.  Thirty high school and college age counselors led the activities for the week.

Andy O’Meara and Kevin Stevens took ten entering ninth graders to Wynnview and American Revolutionary sites in Boston and in NY State for the annual “counselor in training” (CIT) Trip.  Wynnview House, in Randolph, VT was their base.  They learned leadership skills, hiked, swam and became prepared to be counselors for next summer’s Camp.

Kevin Stevens and Joe Billmeier headed up a weekend in August for high school students to carry out a service project at Wynnview in Vermont.  They painted most of the Main House and portions of the Barn.  Fr. Joe Ruisanchez said Mass each day.  The last day everyone traveled to the White River for a well-deserved floating experience using inner tubes.

The Edge started again in September.  The seminar program, for High School students, prepares young men for the great roles in life of husband, father, a working professional, a friend of others, and living as a son of God.  There are three sections: the freshmen learn ways to get the most from high school.  The sophomores and juniors hear from professionals about their work: what’s involved, how they progressed from school to their current position and stories along the way.  The seniors discuss with Law School Professor Dwight Duncan various philosophical issues they will face in college.

Young professionals visit the Center on Thursday nights for an Evening of Recollection, talks on marriage and other classes related to developing one’s spiritual life or professional life.  Sean Casey keeps the calendar for the group.

We look forward to another exciting year in 2018!
