The Edge, our high school seminar program meets monthly at Chestnut Hill Center.  High school young men meet in three different grade settings to broaden their high school education and look forward to becoming good professionals, fathers, citizens and friends.

The picture shows some of the Sophomores and Juniors who participate in the Professional Work Seminar and hear from people working in a variety of fields of work: what is involved, how they got to their current position, what are the challenges of their job, etc.  Here, Mr. Matthew McDonald is showing some of Boston’s historic buildings, highlighting some of his experiences working as a journalist.

Seniors in The Edge participate in seminars to prepare them for the philosophical and moral realities they will face in college and in the workplace.  Some topics covered are Authority and Freedom, Morality and Conscience, Reliability of Scripture, Marriage and Self-Control.  Professor Dwight Duncan, who teaches at UMass Law School, leads this seminar.

The Freshmen learn to establish the right priorities in high school.  Topics have included studying for success, character and maturity and the importance of friendship.
